There is nothing quite like flushing a toilet only to have it overflow on to the floor. Here is a quick and easy way to help you you through this crisis.
Water blasting
Take a five gallon bucket of water and pour it in all at once. Wait for the level of the water to go down first. This could take a few minutes. Not doing this may only make a worse mess. A good blast from this water clears up most common blockages.
Plunger
Ahh yes Don , but what about the big blockages? Then you may need a plunger. Don’t but the cheapest plunger you can find either. Power plunger provides a good blast of pressure. It may take a few good pushes to force the blockage through.
Using a Snake
The more severe blockages may require running a snake through the blockage to break it up. This is actually rare, but it happens. Unless you enjoy a nasty job take a good look at the alternatives or call a handyman. This option is not fun.
The Last Resort
Removing the toilet is your last option . Usually two bolts hold it through the floor. If you have little kids running around the house you may find as I did back in the day, you may have to do this more than you want.
